I would first like to say thank you for taking the time to look at my blog. Secondly I would like to remind everyone that I will be leaving for Israel January 21 (this Wednesday) and will be posting regularly (if the internet allows it) about my adventures in Israel at the University of Haifa.
Although I love to travel the worst part by far is waiting. Not that I have enough time to sit around and wait until Wednesday- considering I have not started packing, the prospect of knowing everything is in place except for me is daunting.
I would like to start be ensuring everyone of my safety- the war and fighting has been occurring in the Beer-sheba and Tel-Aviv areas while I will be living north, in Haifa. A little bit about the city of Haifa and why it attracted me. The city is sometimes referred to as an oasis, a utopia, in which Jews, Christians, Muslims, Druz and many other religions are able to interact peacefully. I have been told that there are just as many Arabic speakers attending the University than there are Hebrew speakers. Since I want to improve my Arabic and Hebrew skills I thought that this would be a perfect combination. The city of Haifa is situated on top of Mount Carmel, overlooking the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. Every website that I have searched mentions both the beautiful beaches as well as the Bahai gardens. I am excited to begin my stay in Israel and hope to update this blog regularly.
Well have fun! I know you'll enjoy yourself there. So in the past two years there has only been one major plane crash, and that was yesterday, so chances are you'll be safe by flight.
ReplyDeleteI like your background, and I'm not sure if you noticed this or not, but the empty spaces between the dots make Tetris shapes.

I think you've waited long enough. Now you are in Israel, are you not?
ReplyDeleteYes, you should write something more, so I can read something interesting between writing code.
But make sure, that if you're writing a lot... to have separate paragraphs, because otherwise nobody will want to read a HUGE block of text.
Cool, thanks.
