Qur'an Lesson

Today my roommate Hebe taught me how to recite a few verses of the Qur'an! I had been in my room studying when I heard her praying. When she was finished I walked over and asked if she could teach me a little about the Qur'an and her prayer. A huge smile spread across her face and the two of us quickly sat down on her bed. She flipped to the first few pages of the worn book and recited the first verse for me, and then she told me to repeat it. She would point to each word with her finger as I stammered through the notes of the words. Although my recitation did not sound even remotely like what she had just sang, she congratulated me all the same.
