Wine and Toothpaste

Who would have thought that I would ever taste the gritty mixture of wine and toothpaste together? Since this was a religious event we had Kiddush (the blessing over wine) for every meal during Rosh Hashanah. Therefore that meant our first meal every morning began with Kiddush. I remember the first day we did this, I still had the fresh minty taste in my mouth from brushing my teeth when my cousin handed me a glass of wine. I took a sip and it was this weird combination of gritty dentist toothpaste, with the flavor of grapes- not such a great taste or feeling. The next morning I learned my lesson and made sure to drink a lot of water after brushing my teeth and before drinking that first glass of wine.
